Homemade pansy twilight skirt (Alabama Chanin remake)

The at home modified long skirt length with amateur version of pansy.

Selvaged from clearance tank singlets, whip stitch to maintain stretch. Can’t really tell from right side, with this kind of appliqué where it’s so busy. Great way to create big pieces from up cycling.
Added the blue inner layer for strengthening the fabric where most stretched & worn. Not enough teal fabric available.

Cutting template cut to size M.
Shortened hem to XS.
Took 5cm of length from waist. Maintained original M waist circumference. But folded top 3.5cm over to create waist band.
Sewed the zig zag stitch on the waistband but the opposite side of Alabama Chanin teaching. It creates parallel lines on the right side instead!

My height = 165cm now the back train just barely touches the ground.

DIY stencil. Took hours and hours to diy make it but I learned a lot.

Colour is closer to the original Alabama Chanin skirt
(but phone can only do so much)
Skirt also has been worn & therefore stretched at hips
