Pink boxy tee + pencil skirt

Boxy tee drafted from Alabama Chanin fitted tee/sloper.  Started with size L original.  Add 5cm to c.f. and 5cm to c.b.  (Neck hole therefore extended 10cm). Drop the neck hole at cf by 1cm and reshape the curve.  Increase the armpit armhole by 2cm for front and back.  Draw square lines for bodice and sleeves. Really boxy. Straight down, straight across for hems.  Roughly 24” length from shoulder or thereabouts. Lift up your arms and you’ll see belly button. Hipster underwear kind of length. Wanted the closed hem to stop the curling. Plus I think it looks good and adds weight. Hems are 1”. Clean, simple lines.

Straight stitch for neck hole. There’s enough space for straight stitch. Might even create funnel neck from this neck hole on another template for winter.

Hand stitch reinforcing where the machine stitching technique or heavy duty thread combination was too much for what this fabric could handle. Think I caused some holes.

Back of skirt godet. Done on absolutely the opposite of suggestion, ie cutting template flipped 90 degrees. Also used the opposite side of fabric to the rest of skirt. Reason being, when the raw edges curl after initial wash, it will curl in the same direction.  (When you don’t have enough fabric.) Stretch and fit of skirt unaffected. Walk in it just the same.

Machine zigzag waistband.  Size M Alabama Chanin pencil skirt.  Added 2 cm at each side seam = 8 cm to waist. Not totally necessary but why not, for comfort, plus the fabric is available to use.  Added 3.5 cm waistband to simply fold over and therefore encase elastic.

Might add this Lee stencil design using scraps?

Both items fit almost identical to this model but boxy tee is not so cropped and a.c.'s sleeves are slightly more slender, which is also a good silhouette for cropped tees.
