250 microns | ~10 mil acetate stencil

Field notes:

  • Acetate material seems more smelly when melting; I'm even going to guess that it's more toxic than polypropylene.  Definitely do it with open air flow and breathe away from it.
  • 250 microns is kind of tough.  This was very slow to do having to redo bits again and again to get through the thickness.  Who wants to do their stencil three times over? Booring.
  • Would suggest this thickness for small stencils or not so intensive stencils where there's simply less perimeter to melt.
  • Acetate is also more brittle than polypropylene.  Nothing disastrously... after all it's just a stencil.  But it's not as versatile as polypropylene.  Nevertheless still a decent enough material.
